Climate-related financial disclosure: Bill introduced

The government has introduced the Treasury Laws Amendment (Financial Market Infrastructure and Other Measures) Bill 2024. The bill will implement standardised, internationally aligned requirements for mandatory disclosure of climate-related risks and opportunities in Australia.

Reporting requirements will commence on 1 January 2025, although there are transitional provisions, categorising entities into 3 groups over a 4-year period (depending on size).
